Doug Quinlivan has been a Certified Personal Trainer since 1999 and has been the owner of Ascent Fitness since 2002. With over 15 years in the industry, Doug draws on his experience and vast knowledge of physiology, kinesiology and coaching to create sport specific training programs designed to help student athletes reach their maximum potential.
Doug has competed at a high level in a wide variety of sports, including football, volleyball and tennis, and has coached at the high school and club level in volleyball and at the club level in hockey. In addition, Doug has participated in various sports performance studies and was a consultant to Heritage College in their Personal Trainer Certification program.
Having worked with people in ranging in age from 14 to 90, Doug has extensive knowledge in strength training, nutrition, injury rehabilitation, and sport specific training. His workout programs are designed on an individual basis, incorporating a variety of methods including free weights, machines, functional training and high intensity power training.
